NYC Sparkle Eye Dust Review and Swatches

NYC Sparkle Eye Dust Review & Swatches

Okay so, I'm all for cheap make-up that is great quality.  I haven't really used many NYC products so when I actually took a second to look at the display at Wal-mart I decided to pick up one...and then one turned into having three.  But for $2.72 an eyeshadow you can't beat it! There are 10 different shadows to choose from.

Feel/Consistency: 4

Overall: I adore these!  They are so incredibly pigmented!  I love how you can just pop Amber Glitz all over your lid, pop on a brow bone highlight and you're good to go.
There are 10 shades to choose.
I am very disappointed in the packaging, it had a doefoot applicator but when you take unscrew the top and pull the wand out, the product goes EVERYWHERE! The only way I use it is I unscrew the top, put the wand out a little, I don't let it leave the tube, and then I take a brush and just put it on the wand to grab the product.  It works I just wish that these came in pots or something more practical! I have found these at Target, Walmart. I'm sure Rite Aid sells them and any other place that sells NYC products. I literally can't get over these!  I want all of them.  I am still hunting for Smokey Topaz, which is a taupe kind of color.  I would totally repurchase these and recommend them to anyone and everyone I know! Go get you some!

Overall: I love this product!  This is one of my new favorite face products!  This is a beautiful highlight.  I think that this is as good as TheBalm's Mary Lou Manizer.  Which is one of my favorite highlighters.  This is obviously much, much cheaper.  If you are looking for a fantastic yet budget friendly highlighter this is it!

So, do you guys think that you will be purchasing the ELF baked highlighter anytime soon?!
Let me know!

Value: 7
Usage: 2
Pigmentation: 9
Packaging: 7 (Plastic, twist off top)
Scent: 0
Feel/Consistency: 5 (A bit greasy, but creamy)Overall:  These creased on me like crazy! With primer or without which is super frustrating!  I was hoping that these would be a product that I could use for an easy look but unfortunately these will be best used for running errands or somewhere with minimal lighting?  I will be using these as liners because they can be used as bases or liners.  I wouldn't really recommend these, not even for the price.  If you want a good base go with the Maybelline color tattoos, yes they are more expensive but the feel and consistency and lasting power of them are a lot better than the ELF smudge pots.  The ELF Smudge pots are greasy feeling. They are creamy but there is like a slick feel to them.  I don't know how to describe it. Like I said, I would pass.

REVIEW: ELF Studio Maximum Coverage Concealer

ELF Studio Maximum Coverage Concealer
$3.00
Found at:
ELF

Claims:
It provides blendable, buildable coverage.  This can be used on the face and the body for tattoos, blemishes, scars, etc.
It is highly pigmented and can be worn for an extended period of time.

Net wt. 0.7 fl oz / 20 m

The Breakdown
Rating: 3.15/10
Affordability: 8/10 ($3.00)
Value:8/10 (Net wt. 0.7 fl oz / 20 m)
Pigmentation: 1/10 (Lacks pigmentation, patchy when blended)Usage: 1/10 (I will be throwing this away.  I hate wasting make-up but when I know that I will not be using this It's just wasting space.)
Overall: I was super disappointed in this concealer.  There are 6 available shades and I grabbed the lightest one, which is Porcelain.  It has an orangey under tone to it so it doesn't really work just alone on the face.  I need to wear this with a foundation.  Which if fine but some people tend to go for a full coverage concealer and then a setting powder but I wouldn't do that. Especially because it doesn't really cover up everything.  This is supposed to be a full coverage concealer, it's supposed to cover up blemishes which is my main issue.  Blemishes and redness.  I used this on my face and it is super thin.  It has a watery like consistency so when you apply this to your face you kind of have to wait for it to set in order to apply another layer.  That is annoying, nobody has time to wait 10 minutes between layers.  I wouldn't recommend this at all.   I would go for the cheaper ELF essential all over cover stick it is $1.00 and can be found at ELF and in store at select Targets.

Review: Morphe Brushes Individual Eye Shadows

Review: Morphe Brushes Individual Eye Shadows

These eye shadows are incredible!  I cannot express how much I love these shadows.
1. They are $2.00! Can you get any better than that? Probably not.
2. They have 65 shadows to choose from.
3. They are the best eye shadows I have ever used.

I have 11 of these shadows.
I had ordered this 12 pan shadow palette...why did I order 11 shadows?  The world will never know.
Anyways, this palette is $6.99
On the Website they have different palettes to choose from.
Empty palette $12.99
If I were to order from this website again I'd order the empty palette.  It is $12.99 but you can fit a lot of shadows in it.
Okay, let's get onto the review

See what I mean? One missing shadow, why did I do that?!

I tried getting an array of colors.  I wanted some mattes and some shimmers so that's what I got.

E22 Coffee Brown with Bronze Pearl (Velvet)

This first shade is beautiful!  Well, all of them are beautiful.  But this shade is a brown with golden bronze undertones.  I love using this shadow all over my lid when I'm feeling lazy and putting some mascara on and I'm out the door.
This Velvet formula is very similar to MAC's Veluxe Pearl shadows.

E20 Intense Brown/Gold with Shimmer (Frost)

This is a beautiful gold shadow.  It's smooth, an intense.  It's just the perfect gold

ES30 Vivid Orange (Matte)

For some reason I didn't swatch this shadow, so when I was uploading these I did it but my computer won't upload it?
This shadow is beautiful just like all the others.  This formula is perfection.  I have never touched a matte shadow with this much pigment.  It is just so intense and vivid for a matte it doesn't seem real.  Usually mattes lack pigmentation and are really chalky but not these shadows!

ES53 Soft Purple (Pearl)

This is a nice purple.  The swatches don't give it justice at all.  It's a bright plum with shimmer.

ES16 Soft Muted Rosy Brown (Satin)

I use this as a blending color and it is great for that!  It's very pigmented but it is the perfect transition between colors for some eye looks.  It looks matte to me but on the website it is described as a Satin. Either way it is amazing.

ES24 Intense Reddish Brown (Matte)

Another great transition/blending color.  Pop this in the crease when you're using browns and reds and it'll tie it all together.

ES11 Orange Copper (Veluxe Pearl)

I love this shadow! This is such an intense color.  It's a coraly pink with a veluxe pearl finish.

ES47 Golden Apricot (Shimmer)

I was hesitant to buy this shadow for some reason but I am very happy I did.  This is a great color if you are looking to step out of your boundaries.   Use this with a nice golden brown in the outer v and you will have a great eye look.

ES14 Vivid Orange Matte

This shadow is very similar to the shadow ES30 that I didn't swatch!  This is a nice color to pop in your crease as a blending color.  It is the most vivid orange eye shadow I have ever seen.

ES13 Soft Gold-Peach with Pearl (Satin)

I love this shadow but I don't really see the gold in it.

ES15 Golden Orange Brown (Matte)

The Breakdown

Rating: 9.65
Affordability: 10 ($2.00 a shadow!)
Value:10
Usage: 9 ( I use these shadows quite a few times during the week)
Pigmentation: 10 (Incredible pigmentation.)
Packaging: 7 ( These would be good to travel with, they have a lot of packaging choices to choose from)
Scent: 10 (No scent what so ever)
Feel/consistency: 10 (Butter, that is all I have to say)

This brand of eyeshadows is incredible, like I have stated 100 times above.  But seriously, if you are a beginner, a make-up artist, a mom, a teenager and everyone in between these shadows would be perfect for you.  There are so many colors to choose from along with finishes.  I have a couple of MAC Shadows and these shadows beat those in every category. These shadows even beat Urban Decay and that is my favorite high end make-up brand.  I really hope you all get the chance to check these out! I will be making another order again hopefully soon.  I'll probably check out the brushes that they have.
